Yes! Futurecon will be at Toronto Wizard World with some special surprises and giveaways. Look for us in the Fan Table section, and come by to say hi. We will be having a three-day Purim Party, and even The Behemoth will be there in costume.
As a special bonus, we will be offering earlybird registration for Futurecon 2:
JUST $40 flat for the convention itself, or $100 flat for the deluxe package (includes the convention and the delicious buffet dinner). Registration will be cash only.
You can also register for our Purple Day festivities!
“What is Purim?”, you ask?
This year Wizard World Toronto (formerly the Toronto Comicon) falls on the Jewish Holiday of Purim. Sometimes called the “Jewish Mardi Gras”, Purim celebrates story of Queen Esther, who saved the Jewish people from extinction at the hands of the evil Haman. So Futurecon decided to throw a 3 day Purim Party at Wizard World! In addition to reading from the Book of Esther, Purim is celebrated with food, drink and by donating to charity – so it is a perfect fit for Futurecon! Purim was also the very first holiday in history to incorporate cosplay into its celebrations.
So, stop by the Futurecon table and try out our Purim noisemakers (called “graggers”), make your own tri-cornered Haman hat (it’s totally steampunk…sort of) and take part in our Purim Costume contest. Plus there will be exclusive giveaways and you can even have your picture taken with The Behemoth (who will be in costume for the event). So come and join us as we celebrate this unique holiday with us as only Futurecon can!
